Biography

Taylor Swift became one of country-pop's brightest (and youngest) faces in 2006, when the 16-year-old vocalist released her first album. Although new to the American public, Swift had been performing since her pre-teen years in Wyomissing, PA, where she first entered the spotlight as part of a children's theater troupe. Encouraged by the troupe's manager to pursue music instead, Swift soon found herself performing karaoke songs at a local mall, with open mic performances following shortly thereafter. She sang "The Star-Spangled Banner" before a Philadelphia 76ers game at the age of 11; the following year, she began practicing the guitar several hours each day, modeling her early songwriting attempts after crossover artists like Shania Twain and the Dixie Chicks. Swift's parents realized their child's dedication and began making regular visits to Nashville, TN, where Swift would perform casually and meet with songwriters in the area. The family then decided to move from their native Pennsylvania to an outlying Nashville suburb, which accelerated  swift's career.

नेपाली गायक - कुमार कान्छा

बावु मनु शाह र आमा तुलसी देबीको कोखबाट कलकत्ताको चिढियामोडमा जन्मेका गायक कुमार कान्छाको नाम संगित प्रेमीहरूका लागि अनौठो नाम होइन । भारतमै जन्मे-हुर्केका भएपनि गायक कान्छाले नेपाली  गीतसंगितमा दिएको योगदान अतुलनिय रहेको छ । उनै गायक कान्छा नेपाल आएको बेला फिल्मीखबर डटकमले गरेको कुराकानी संक्षेपमा :-

नेपाल आउनु भएको कति भयो?
- डेढ महिना भयो ।
नेपाली भएर भारतमा नै जीवन बिताउनुको कारण ?
- सानै देखि भारतमै हुर्केको हुनाले पनि त्यहाँको माया लागेको हो तर त्यसो भन्दैमा नेपाललाई माया मार्न खोजेको भने हैन । नेपाल आउने र जाने क्रम भईरहन्छ ।
नेपाललाई माया मार्न खोजेको जस्तो देखियो नि त?
- मैले नेपाललाई माया मार्न नै खोजेको भए मेरो नाम कुमार कान्छा नभएर कुमारको पछी अरू केहि हुन्थ्यो ।
अहिले भर्खरै मात्र गर्नु भएको गीत रेकर्डिङमा नेपाली भाषा भन्दा बढी हिन्दी भाषाको प्रयोग गर्नु भएको थियो नि ?
- त्यस्तो केहि हैन यार । ल हेर्नुस अहिले भर्खर तपाईं सँग 'यार' भनें । धेरै जसो हिन्दी भाषाको प्रयोग गर्ने हुनाले बेलाबेलामा हिन्दी भाषाको प्रयोग हुनु स्वाभाविक हो ।
बिस्तारै नेपाली भाषा बोल्न छोड्ने त हुनुहुन्न ?
- म सच्चा नेपालीको छोरो हुँ, त्यसैले मैले नेपाली भाषा बिर्सन हुन्न र बिर्सन पनि सक्दिन ।
नेपाल आउनुको कारण ?
-  खास गरि म आफ्नो सोलो एल्बम 'साईनो' को तयारीको लागी नेपाल आएको हुँ । यस एल्बममा आलोकश्रीको संगित र धेरै गितकारहरूको साथ रहेको छ । त्यसै गरी अहिले तपाईसँग कुर गर्नु भन्दा केहि समय अगाडी सन्तोष भट्टराईको एल्बमको लागि पनि गीत गाउने अवसर पाएँ । गीत एकदमै राम्रो पनि छ।
तपाईले गीत सुन्ने बित्तिकै मैले नै गाउँछु भन्नु भयो रे ?
- हो । खास गरि म पहिला गितको शब्द हेर्छु अनि मात्र संगित सुन्छु । त्यसपछी संगितकार पनि हेर्छु कत्तिको किचकिचे छ भनेर अनि मात्र म गित गाउने निर्णय लिन्छु । मैले यो गीतमा सबैकुरा मिलेको पाएँ अनि गीत गाउन तयार भएको हुँ ।
